The responsibility for deciding whether to participate in water borne activity on the lake (whether using a sailing dinghy, canoe, kayak, windsurf or other craft) is yours alone. This applies all year whether there is organised racing or not. When a patrol boat is on duty on the water it is there to help in the general organisation of the activities. It should not be relied upon for rescue perposes. The patrol boat crew are generally untrained in rescuing boats and untrained in first aid.
