Location & Facilities

Embsay reservoir is nestled below Earl Crag near Skipton in the South West corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park; within easy travelling distance of Keighley, Bradford, Leeds and Harrogate.

The location makes for great sailing - often there is no wind in the Wharfedale and Airedale valleys, but plenty to go round at Embsay! You can explore where we are using Google maps

As well as heated male and female changing rooms with showers, the clubhouse has a central communal area with a dedicated 'dry' section and a small kitchen for making hot drinks and food. It has great views over the reservoir towards Earl crag, and provides shelter from the elements when it really gets windy! Internal images of the clubhouse can be found on our galleries page.

There are quite a few storage spaces on site, and many members keep their craft at the club year-round. If you do wish to keep your boat (up to about 4.2m), board, kayak or Canadian at the Club then please contact the Site Officer who will be able to check if space is available.
